I appreciate your interest in hosting a program in your area. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work to be done before a class can take place and as host, I rely on your help to get the bulk of the logistics done. Your primary responsibility is to market the class, handle registrations and all logistics.
What’s In It For You:
As host, you will receive your workshop seat free of charge. This can be transferred to another person by arrangement. Other people "helping" in any capacity are subject to full workshop fee.
The typical full day training is a 6.5 - 8 hour program designed with 2 10-minute breaks and a 1 hour lunch. Typically, I start at 8:30 and end at 3:30 pm. To cultivate a safe, comfortable space for learning, my trainings are kept small. Unless otherwise agreed, the minimum number is 12 and the maximum is 24. The program is designed to speak to the audience i.e. doulas, childbirth educators, nurses, massage therapists, midwives, mental health professionals, etc. Because of this, a “mixed audience” (professionals and the general public) is not an option if participants want to use the program for continuing ed/ contact hours credits. (The WSGB one day program workshop gives participants 7.5 continuing education credits through ICEA and DONA.) If you would like to offer this program to a mixed audience or as a public offering, that can be arranged with the understanding that the program will involve no roleplay activities and no continuing ed/contact hours. Confidentiality of conversation could also not be guaranteed. Depending on the audience and your location, a 1/2 day version or 90 minute talk is also available.
My fee ranges from $50-$175 per person for the program. Factors that go into the cost include distance of travel, number of expected participants and desired content or outcomes.
Minimum Registration & Cancellation Policy:
I require a minimum of 12 paid registrations to be in attendance in order to hold a class. These numbers do not include the host and her free seat. This number can go down if I am not paying for my own lodging. Unless otherwise agreed, registration is done through you: via EventBrite, your own website. No "registrations at the door", please. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure the date on my calendar. The balance is due to me in the form of a check the day of the program. If the program needs to be rescheduled due to low enrollment, I need to be informed of this one week prior to the program (or sooner). If the program needs to be canceled for any reason, the host forfeits any monies paid.

Before the big day:
- Location: Secure the workshop location. The location should be comfortable, warm and inviting, not vast and spacious. Yoga mats, Back Jack chairs, bolsters, comfy chairs etc. are ideal. Please be sure that there is a video monitor, projector screen or blank wall along with a projector that I can use for the powerpoint presentation on my MacBook. Please email me photos of the desired location, including measurements of the room we'll be using for the day, before securing the space. Note: Host is responsible for fees for location.
- Marketing: Create a buzz! Start a Facebook event and invite me to it. Share the event and details on social media. Mention @OutsideTheMomBx (Twitter) and Outside The Mom Box (Facebook) so I can share your marketing. The event, unless open only to your group, will be mentioned on my website.
- Registration: This is the responsibility of the host. We will stay in contact so you can be aware of how many registrations have come in.
- Food & Lodging: Past programs either provide lunch, have participants bring their own or do potluck. Please let me know what you decide will work best for your group when the location is finalized. I pay for my lodging.
The Big Day:
Set-up and Clean-up! Make sure that the space can be accessed the evening before so I can set up. Arrive 1 hour before the program starts on the day of to help set-up and welcome participants. Help breakdown and pack up after the workshop after the program ends.
